API for Sixty60 / Pick n Pay

Yeah, good luck with that. I’ve worked on the MrD iOS app extensively as a developer - and know what we do with security. So, good luck.
You would expect good security to be the standard. As Mr Gherkin mentioned, configs, tokens, validation, headers all come into play. Sadly "i know a fool that can half deliver a mv..." is all too common.

You work for checkers?

No - however I worked at MrD as an iOS dev on their Pick n pay / iOS integration. So we have access to their apis of course and backend team.

Obviously since emigrating I don’t work for them anymore.

Dude it's totally fine, many people have worked as delivery drivers at some point in their life. :)
what's the top speed on those motorbikes?

Sixty60 backend dev here. Been with them for more than years by now.

This won't happen, sorry to disappoint. But I see zero chance for this.

Hehehe, if you know what you're doing there's little stopping you from leveraging our APIs besides for the standard mechanisms. What I will say is if you abuse the API or find any gaps which allow you to create unexpected orders, you'll be spotted very VERY (emphasis here) quickly, and your mobile number will receive a lifetime ban faster than you can say, "no more Sixty60 deliveries for me." XD

I would also like to mention, this system is massively feature heavy. This results in a highly complex system of intertwined interactions needed for you to do seemingly simple things. So, best of luck to you. Personally, I would say that if you're still left wanting from the features contained in the app, then you probably haven't spent enough time exploring the app. Also, good luck with maintenance.

Oh boy, we have a l33t developer g0d here.
So intertwined and complex hey?

And a lifetime ban… maybe sanitize your API inputs better

Don’t know why so closed minded.

Integration with Home Assistant and Apple Reminders would make me buy more and likely more often.

And more so whichever one comes to the party first will likely be the one I spend my money with long term.

Your highly complex app can't even remember sessions.

People are willing to perform integration and I personally know of several people who would seriously want to be able to integrate- the fridge that orders new ones when the stuff runs low.

But I guess that’s a bridge too far for that guy

I mean they have the “Smart” Trolley now which is all well and good but truly Smart would be me talking to Siri/Alexa/Google/Whatever and just saying add X to my grocery list and it magically appears in the app.

Then the Smart Trolley will he properly useful if I get there and all my stuff is already populated and it just tells me where to get it.

Yes and that’s what people want. You want it, I want it..

I doubt that it's a dev issue - most likely management don't like idea since it implies a loss of control and there's no one internally prepared to spin up a business case to support diverting resources to this.

You are not wrong.
Interfacing with third parties can be quite drawn out as my experience goes.

But, no need for our esteemed backend developer to come stomping in here and chooning us like a certain man at Multichoice would

Not really sure how I was "chooning" you. I gave my two cents. I didn't say anything was above you, or anyone else here. I'm just saying it will be a bit more of a las than you may realise.

Thanks for being friendly though.
