App creation for IOS and Android

Morning,

I have an app idea which I've been working on for a while. I need to know if the following is possible:

. App needs to connect to a data server and filter requests by user's selection and location
. Data server to sent reply to the app with the filtered data.

Don't have anyone who is developing the app yet, just trying to fine tune what is possible and what not before I get a developer on board with an equity share in the company.

I also need to find out the smaller details when it comes to having a data server, costs and the like. So would love to get someone on board with a complete know how of these kind of things as it's not my forte.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
 
That’s pretty standard. In do it all the time.

Entry level server at Digital Ocean is $5/month.

You’ll have a hard time convincing a developer to swap income for equity.

That's a very standard application.
You can follow a tutorial and write it yourself.

I'm already putting R 150k aside for marketing and so forth. If I can get the App for around R 50k I will gladly let go of the equity since the market is massive for it and the idea unique. Just not sure what these things go for, I saw discussions on here for R 750/h and no idea how long such a development will take. I'm clueless in this field.

Pm me some basic info on what it must do, you don’t have to give your idea away. I’ll give you a rough estimate. I charge less than that. Is it for both Android and iOS?

Will PM you a general idea of what I need it to do. Appreciate it, even if you can just give me an idea of it being possible or not. From my understanding it should be. Appreciate the assistance.

Appreciate it. I'll leave everything for now then till I hear from you. No use fiddling around with other things if I don't know what is possible and what not with the app.

Sorry for the thread hijack,

I have a pretty good idea for an App, or I think so at least. I honestly cant see how it wont work as almost everyone has this problem. But ja, I have less than 0 experience with this. I also don't have 200k laying around.
So I don't know how it work, Can I possibly give someone my idea and you tell me if it will work or not (Since you will be the expert), and if it will work what will it cost me?.
 
Even marketing should not be that difficult. We have a dotted line to MagicDude as i'm sure this will benefit BOB.
 
Fyi. I do mobile and web projects for equity stakes, if I see the market potential I take the risk with no financial commitment. To the OP, pm me if you haven't found anyone yet.
