App for editing photos

Anyone know of a good free app for editing photo's? I basically want something where I can make the image B&W and colour only a portion of the photo - its for print to canvas, so needs to be able to be done with some decent quality.

I've got an old Photoshop version lying around somewhere, but don't feel like unpacking the garage to find it.
 
PhotoStudioHD was free the other day when I got it, not sure if it still is but it will do what you're interested in doing.
 
Found it... I think $1.99. Maybe I must just get a new voucher.

Hunt around for something free first - there's bound to be something available.
 
Try ColorBlast! HD it's got a free version, the full version can save higher resolutions, but the free will show you fully what it can do.
 
I'll give it a try, thx, I've downloaded 4 apps which are exactly the same. Very annoying

Or you could download the trial version of PS, that you can use for 30 days, if you only need a short therm solution.
