Hi Guys,

I own a company who is looking to diversify a bit and move into new spaces.

I'm looking for an app developer who has capacity do do some project based work that is quite urgent. I'm wanting to get the app onto the stores before September, so I need someone who knows what they're doing and is keen to possibly move full time into the project should uptake be sufficient.

If you're interested in getting involved, please PM me with some of your experience and we can set up a meeting. I'm based in Pretoria, but spend a lot of time traveling around Gauteng so can work with someone remotely if skills/expertise make it compelling enough.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to your responses.

Could you be a little more specific?

When you say you're looking for an app/web developer...

Is it an app you want, e.g. android / ios or a web app that people can make use of on your website?

If you could give us a rough indication of what the the requirements would be for this it would be great...

As IndigoIdentity said, providing some additional details regarding requirements would be very beneficial and is the difference between me being able to suggest someone or not.
At the moment you're essentially going "I need someone to build me a car". No specifications of what kind of car (remote control, full-sized rally, F1, hotrod, etc).

Hi guys,

Thanks for that, let me try provide a bit more info.

I'm needing an app for iOS and android, that would need a content management system webside for push notifications. It is going to interface with some proprietry hardware, which i'd prefer to discus outside of a public forum.

It's a really simple 1page type app that just needs to communicate with a CMS to determine what to display on the app. Perhaps a web app/hybrid app is possible?

Hmmm okay, that narrows things down a hell of a lot. I'll see if I can find someone that's interested.

Not a mobile app expert at all but that seems about plausible.

interface with some proprietry hardware

Prepare to pay a lot of money for integration...

communicate with a CMS

If it's communicating with a database then making it hybrid makes sense and would be more useful i think? So the website reads the database, the apps read the database, both interact slightly but the cms / pos system controls the information and is able to adjust everything and more.

This way the end users get a variety of access methods, don't underestimate the importance of web, the world evolves and technology does too... The web has not (roughly still the same)...

I can't help here as not what I do but.... They are going to charge you, for sure :D

Rough estimate... 30 - 50k.

Yes I think a hybrid would probably be best.

Thanks for the assistance though, if you know of anyone who would be able to help - please point them in my direction.

Glad that I could help if I did, PM me your contact details and I will pass them on for you.

Good luck with that September deadline :)
And please post in the employment offered section.

Cute, more like 100K +.

For the whole project? Surely...

For a "1page" mobile app that works on both android and ios and interacts with the existing system?

I'm pretty sure he'd get quoted around what I said and if its R100k, pfft, look elsewhere!

An app that integrates into hardware, good luck.

He didn't mention much about that but i am assuming that the hardware can be interacted with by some type of API... This would get dealt with by his "CMS" and the app is merely interacting with the end result, not the actual hardware?

You do know in order to get data from hardware, you would need to write the software to integrate right? Meh. Hardware doesnt magically just plug in.

Well, my statements are based in the case that he has already gone through the process of "write the software to integrate".

I could only assume that is he has created some type of proprietary hardware, he has a way to do that type of thing? Fair assumption?

You what assumptions are right?

I never said I was right, I just said that it was an assumption lol.

Are yours any more correct than mine? You know about as much as I do in relation to this...

NB: All that was mentioned previously was merely my own opinion on the matter, if I am wrong and it offends you guys you're welcome to take me up on that but please bear in mind... It's an opinion. There is no right and no wrong within that!

If hes got the integration done then it may be less work, coming from background where i integrate daily with devices, it can either be an easy task, or an utter nightmare.
