So, 4 weeks ago I started getting hideous LAG in BF2.
It used to be 32ms, and it went up to 100ms.
Initially I blamed my WoW playing GF, but, she's not playing and :

Tracing route to saix.co.za [196.25.1.200]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms ***** [10.0.0.*]
2 55 ms 56 ms 56 ms dsl-146-140-*.telkomadsl.co.za [165.146.140.*]
3 74 ms 72 ms 72 ms wblv-ip-essr-1-atm-2-0-0-2.telkom-ipnet.co.za [1
96.43.11.30]
4 74 ms 73 ms 76 ms wblv-ip-www-1.saix.net [196.25.1.200]

56ms at the exchange, WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?

Any ideas how on earth this is even possible?
The exchange is 350m away from me.
Phone line sounds crystal clear.

AAAAAARG!

So, what am I supposed to do about this?
It's not like Teklom actually guarantees their service.

stoke stoke stoke.

My oh my, finally someone else getting a rough end. Buddy, good luck. Ive been fighting this battle for 3 years now. Dude, this is one of those things that you should just go to sleep thinking happy thoughts and stuff. The alternative will incite hideous rage.

I've been having the same problem with call of duty! this lag is killing. they sent out a techi and he said nothing was wrong.

set the dslam on fire and then they will have to get a new one and configure it right this time and it will work

i have no real facts/solutions... it would just be fun

i've had the same problem with bf2, had a nice 30 ping now it sits at around 70, *sigh* what can you do? other than set the exchange on fire ;)

I have recently also had a problem with line stabiliy and a rise in ping.
go to www.speedtest.net and test the download and upload speed for the line.
My problem is that my upload speed has gone down significantly and that is why the is a rise in ping. your pac cant upload data quick enough to the server.
a 4meg line should have about 512 upload

I wonder if this has got to do with Telkom upgrading the DSLAM's to ADSL2+ ?
A rumor i heard btw
