It seems there is a possible hack into Whatsapp whereby the hacker gets into a GROUP using a "good" phone and uses the "Invite" link to get a "bad" phone registered on a group and then immediately starts to post the most vulgar porn that is unimaginable. This has now started to move right through South Africa. The phone numbers are extremely difficult to trace as the sim cards are not RICA'd. Also to remove the "bad" number, does not safeguard you as the "good" number is still on the group.
Looking at Whatsapp it does not seem possible to get admin privileges without being Admin but this has now happened on several groups that I know of.
I have even approached Whatsapp Inc. direct to make a request that Admin should be able to completely remove an Invite link, as presently if I revoke a link, the system simply replaces it with a new one.
Unfortunately the groups that I work with must have the facility for both admin and members to be able to post otherwise I can use the Broadcast facility but alas !
Any suggestions or experiences ?

WhatsApp shows you who added the number to the group (i'm looking at it now as I was added to a group)

This is not hacking.

Remove the number who invited the "bad" user. And remove the person who added the bad user. It is going to be a process of elimination until WhatsApp change the features of the Group functionality.

Yes this is so but the numbers are hard (if at all) to trace s sims are not RICA'd

Don't you know the people in the group? If you see xxxxxxx added the bad number, remove both?

Or what am I missing?

Like @Emjay posted I see.

This is not hacking... and its not Whatsapp hacking either...

As a group admin, just be more proactive about managing the link and remove people who post crud, and the person who added them as well.

I don't see the point of adding the good number first? Why not just use the existing invite link to keep joining the group and spamming it... until they revoke the invite link. We can usually tell who the spammers are as they are usually foreign numbers... and we remove them asap. If they are SA numbers who post porn, we also remove them, and then create a new invite link if necessary.
