so my router at the moment is being stupid and is just giving me problems, and totally getting over it at the moment.

so i have a mac and was looking into the airport extreme, however, the WAN port on the extreme is ethernet now from what i understand in RSA our ADSL lines are not the same as ethernet, as ethernet is RJ45 and phone lines are RJ11.

so this is why i am confused coz the peeps at the Istore aren't helping me out that much when i give them a call. but what i need to find out is do i just need to buy like an adapter (RJ11 to RJ45) or just plug it in or what? can the airport extreme even work here?

It's a router only, no build-in modem.

You need to get a modem as well then if you don't have one at home...

Also, if there is some adapter for RJ11 to RJ45 (2 wire to 4 wire) you'll zap the ethernet port. It's not 50 V friendly.

thanx for the help!

a little depressed though wished it had a built in modem.

um one more sort of random question but, i have seen many ethernet to usb adapters, if i used one of those with my existing router
in order to plug my printer into the router rather than my home pc.

coz at the moment the home pc (which is old useless and also stupid) has to be on in order for the families laptops to print, my mac doesn't print but
what i want to do is link the printer to the router so that we can get rid of the home pc / just keep it off and still print, as well as my mac to print.

sorry if this isn't making sense i not to great at explaining anything!

but again thanx for you's guys help! its much appreciated.
