Apple AI announced with ChatGPT integration

Apple has announced its artificial intelligence play, promising the power of generative AI combined with users’ personal context while preserving privacy.

Called “Apple Intelligence,” CEO Tim Cook introduced the system on Monday during the company’s annual World Wide Developers Conference.

@backstreetboy Did Tim give the command to acknowledge AI yet?

I’m unsure how it works in your community and if the market only became ready last night - or if you need to wait until launch

“The company hasn’t said exactly why it is limiting its Apple Intelligence features to the newest, and most expensive, hardware.

But whether this limitation is a technical requirement or a product-differentiation strategy, it might be Apple’s best shot at convincing customers to upgrade to newer iPhones this fall”

It’s more than likely a product differentiation strategy as Apple do this all the time. Apple obviously won’t come out & say outright and blame it on a chip or hardware processing that the fans will lap up - but looking at their history of leaving things out & blaming hardware, they’ll do it again

If they didn’t mention AI, but introduced the same features, it would just seem like a regular Apple Event. Upgrades to Siri, ability to recognise people and objects in photos. Generating clip art and summaries was out of the norm but still, no need to trumpet that it is AI.

Probably because AI has been in Apple’s products for ages.

Products like Siri are as dumb as a rock. OpenAI to the rescue is what this event was about.

ChatGPT has superior natural language processing yes, but it’s also babysat by an army of meatbags reading your requests.

My point is that Siri was trained on “AI”, so was photo recognition, the camera algorithms, iPad and iPhone’s touch and pencil systems, the list goes on and on. Long before the average person on the street even understood what that meant.

I don’t get the point of this post other than to “stir” up nonsense.

Unless it’s for the actual lulz then I’m game.

He really hates his iPhone but yet continues to use it instead of getting rid of it lol.
My iPhone is by far the worst phone I've had with all the limitations across products . I felt I was going backwards
^^

Amazing.

Now people in the apple cult can have some intelligence!

ChatGPT isn’t powering the operating system’s new AI features, is it? That’s still all Apple, with ChatGPT added alongside Google search.
