Apple battery issue remains for some after iOS update

Old news, 5.1 Beta is in testing 29th Nov, and the majority of the developer reports are indicating the problem is finally resolved. For example; some even say that the 4S battery life now supersedes that of the 4.

Was wondering why this was posted and thanks for the update. Haven't updated to 5.01 for that reason only :/.

I'm in the same boat... After hearing about the battery issues, still on 5.0... Will take the plunge over to 5.01 in the New Year...

I am on 5.01 and I get a full day (5.30am through to 10.30pm) during the week with about 10% - 15% remaining before i plug it in. Thats with Bluetooth and Wifi on constantly although Wifi only connects at home (IE: from 6.15am through to 6pm it is on 3G). Email is set to push synching with my exchange account, notifications on a bunch of apps, some web browsing, 20mins words with friends and maybe 30mins to 1 hour of calls a day. I also use pandora streaming over 3g connected to my car bluetooth for 45mins per day on my commute. On the weekend i actually got 2 full days out of it with it connected most of the time to wifi (I can only assume its because my average emails per day drop from roughly 150-200 to 20-30)

It going to vary quite bit between users based on active features, usage, ...

5.1 beta is however looking good with the 4S, here's a few reports:
  • Remaining 55%, Usage: 4h 3minutes, Standby 15h 48 minutes
  • 20 hours of regular use and only down to 40%
  • 27 hours stand by, and a hair over 6 hours usage before I hit 20%
