Amazing what Apple manages to bring to market with such a small investment in R&D. Smart people. Lean and mean fighting machine.

Think he's gonna end up bashing heads with Steve if that's the case.
For starters they could implement the latest version of OpenGL as the current version they are using is ancient and really slow. Besides that I don't see what else they can do but leave the rest up to the developers but who want's to invest in a platform with a small market share, linux suffers from the same problem. If you want to game Windows is the only real option.

More like Apple can't afford to invest more in R&D, since their entire budget goes into their legal and PR teams. Other than the OS, the iPhone is built around 3rd party technology. I would be really surprised if a modern Mac has any major components inside that have been designed in-house.
Heads are going to roll, and it's not going to be Steve Jobs.
It's all off the shelf stuff stuck onto a circuit board by Foxconn, and it's not even the latest stuff either.
