I also understand that Sharp is lagging on screen manufacturing.

As I said before: What is happening, is that Apple is choosing inferiour parts to spite Samsung, beeing the spoilt brat that Apple is.
So the Apple iPhone was Samsung quality, now it's just a bunch of crap parts from all over China's second grade tech companies, degrading the iPhone quality.

Not one of Apples iPhone or iPad's is build by Apple themselfs, their quality depends on the bridges they build or burn with 3rd party/vendor companies.

I like it, Apple digging it's own grave.

I doubt very much Apple would make decisions that would affect the quality of their products too much. One thing that they may run into is acquiring enough parts, as with the screen issue now.

They trade on quality. I don't know why android fan boys think apple not manufacturing the parts is somehow a negative. Apple is in the business of profit and not manufacturing the devices is a formula that maximizes their profits.

They are in the business of design not running factories.

Obviously apple don't want too much dependence on Samsung as the relationship crumbles. Apple would like to have 0 dependence on Samsung.

I can appreciate that Apple wants to get away from Samsung but it is not the best decision for the company. Samsung makes some stunning mobile hardware incl. screens, chips and solid state memory. Samsung screen technolgy is imo the best available at present and Apple will be worse off not making use of it. Sharp is not known for top quality screens and is already struggling. Apple will now call on the likes of LG to help ... also not = Samsung quality. Samsung will obviously take Apple's business if offered but they will do well anyway as not being tied to an Apple exclusivity agreement they can now supply their best screens and chips to anyone, incl Windows 8 OEM's. Someone will quickly fill the Apple vacuum. It is Apple that cannot fill the Samsung quality vacuum with the likes of Sharp and LG.

It is actually much better for competition in the industry that others will now have free and equal access to Samsung technology.

Yes, and Samsung may also need the parts capacity for ramping up its own device production.

Is this forum even being moderated anymore? It's an absolute free for all.threads like this have become the norm, and even if they don't start like this they end up like it.

Could also be I'm part of the disease but someone's gotta stick up for the other side or something.
