Apple faces Google with own maps, improved Siri

Until the recent fuss over it. But I said that already.

The recent fuss was over Apple not crediting OpenStreetMap for the Journal maps in the iOS version of iPhoto, something they rectified with the subsequent update to the app.

From what I've been reading this Apple map app is going to require Siri making it substandard compared to standalone products.

Personally, from experience with iOS6, I would trust it less than directions from a service station attendant.

Time is against them i.e. don't expect this to be a stellar release. I think Apple's going to burn some reputation miles with this one.
