Apple Intelligence - Real World Use

Finally getting round to playing with Apple Intelligence and it turns out it's not loaded yet. So changed the language to US (my region is UK) and went back to the "Apple Intelligence & Siri" in settings and joined a 'waitlist'. A few minutes later and it's downloading.

Does anyone have it working yet and what have you been doing?
Mostly using it for productivity e.g. summarising those unnecessarily long corporate emails, and the in-built writing tools. I still turn to chatGPT regularly but having this level of "intelligence" built into the OS is a good start.

Am I just missing where to do it or how do I say something like “write me an X policy document” ?

Everything seems to want me to do all the work first and then just augment it…which seems silly as I can write properly in the first place.

I want the AI to do the bulk of it and I just pop in and change it.

Hence why the thread exists as I’ve been struggling to find real world use cases.

It all seems too hidden away.

Asking via Siri and treating it like a prompt hasn’t done much.

Well, the new Siri animation is nice :)

But tbf I’ve never been much of a Siri user in the past so I’m not too sure of what is new or not. I’ve watched a couple of summary videos on YouTube and I reckon it’s just early days yet.

Jip. That's what I inevitably use chatGPT for. Or for things like "help me reply politely to this email that I'm in agreement but (a), (b) and (c) is not negotiable". Apple Intelligence is not able to do that yet - it might become easier with chatGPT integration later.

I mean I have the ChatGPT integration already and still don’t know how to use it for that.

Discovered by accident while working on my MacBook today that you can access the writing tools in Office applications like Word, Outlook etc... thought it may only work in Apple appls initially. But if you highlight some text in Word or an Outlook email, you get all the AI writing tools currently available.

Genmoji is quite a laugh. I can see myself using it on birthdays and stuff especially to make messages a bit more personalised.

It would have been nice if Homepods supported Apple Intelligence so that one could use Siri more effectively. It's a PITA to use separate commands, where in theory with AI, you could tell a Homepod to give you an update on the weather, turn up the volume to 55%, play the new song by (whomever) and then play a particular playlist after that.

Set up a Siri shortcut?

Siri shortcuts don't work too well with multiple Homepods, ie you can't easily make a shortcut which plays music on all the Homepods in your house ( that only seems to work with a voice command or tapping on the various speakers where you want the music to play). And even if it did work, your choices in terms of whatever song or playlist to play would be hardwired... the AI would make it a bit more spontaneous or flexible.

What's the best AI app for iPhones that don't support Apple Intelligence?
Also the easiest to trigger/access
