Apple iPhone 17 thread

The world is a better place again.

queue nonsense from Apple haters lol. But it doesn't matter, its like talking to a stream train telling it stop as it approaches at full speed :)

The new iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max support eSIMs only in these countries and regions, according to Apple:

Bahrain
Canada
Guam
Japan
Kuwait
Mexico
Oman
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
United Arab Emirates
United States
U.S. Virgin Islands

I shouldn't be doing this, but I might use this as a time to upgrade from my iPhone 13 Pro to the 17 Pro Max. The fiscal responsibility gods would be sentencing me to the financial gas chambers. At least CA $1799 (excluding sales tax).

I must say, the orange colour looks very outlandish; I dont know how an Orange iPhone would look... makes me think of disney.

These are the prices of the iPhone Air, 17, 17 Pro and Pro Max around the world

Apple's iPhone 17 series is now official. All four phones will launch for pre-order across the first wave of 63 countries, including the US, the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, China, France, India, South Korea, and others, this Friday, September 12. Shipments will start from September 19. Another 22 countries will get the iPhones from September 26.

The iPhone 17 was a surprisingly great upgrade, finally matching the Pros in display technology - ProRes, 120Hz, Always-on, less reflective!

It also matches the Pros in another interesting development - it now starts from 256 GB storage as does the Air. The 256 GB base iPhone 17 is the same price in Germany, the UK, the US, and China, despite the doubling of the storage. India and Japan pay a bit more.

Like the 17, the iPhone 17 Pro levels up to a base 256 GB storage. Unlike it, however, the iPhone 17 Pro is more expensive across the board. It's $100/€100/£100 more than the outgoing model, although it's the same when you equalize the storage.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max was already at 256 GB as standard, so there's no change there. It's also the same price in most major markets, except India and Japan.
