Yup, year after year and still nobody gets this.

Apple isn't competing with anyone other than themselves. Their customer base is locked in, they don't need to convince anyone else to buy their product (and most of them never will due to preconceived notions) but just the people who bought it already...to buy it again.

It's really that simple.

Comparing an iPhone to anything else...will not affect sales in the slightest.

Apple customers are locked in by their own volition. Nobody is forcing them. They WANT to be locked in.
