my wife just walked in from the flea market with an apple keyboard and mouse. these things are cool the keyboard has 2 usb connections on the top, what are they for does anyone have one of these. she paid R5 for both.

definately second hand but i miss the little scrolling wheel on my mouse.

Does it work with a normal PC? I think the USB things work the same way as the USB things in your computer.

Okay then what model is the mouse and keyboard? Can't really help you without a model number since there are many types of Apple keyboards and Mouses/Mice.

works perfectly except i just found out this mouse has no right click function on it and because i needed to use the right click button i went back to my old mouse.

Since when is there a flea market there?

since forever its the old milnerton fleamarket and proberly the best in cape town, my wife came home with a writers desk for R100 and i am talking old style wooden one it was selling for R650 on an auction.

Ya I don't think macos has right click.

i needed it when i was busy with bluetooth and the folders on my pc. a bit disappointing though that i cannot use the mouse but the keyboard is way cool i must still test the 2 usb ports on it.

no for sure it is one place that you will get a bargain you need to get there sometime either sat or sun or public holiday. my wife used to run a stall there so knows alot of the regulars and she is also a person that haggles when it comes to buying things and gets it for next to nothing.

Talking about markets has anyone been to that Eastrand traders square thing?

Apple keyboards are USB 1.1. Will only support a mouse, and not a USB stick or drive. Anyway, the old ones are like that. You'll also find the mouse cable to be extremely small ... meant to fit from the keyboard and not the back of a machine. The keyboard has two ports, one for a left handed and one for a right handed person. On the older mice (before the "mighty mouse") there was only a left click, which made sense for both right and left handed people. Right click was achieved through a CTRL click, for the contextual menus. You didn't really need the contextual menus the way you need them in Windows. I still only use the left mouse button on my Mac.
