Not to sound like an Apple fanboy but....

That's the most uninformative review ever. All we know about the Macbook from that review was that it is a 13 inch machine and it's aluminum. I think it's time MyBB got some proper product reviews rather than half hearted attempts.

I would tend to agree with you on this one.

We are looking at expanding our review section, currently we rely mostly on syndicated content from the likes of SACM and finweek.

We've had this discussion before.. i still don't think it a problem on the Macbook.. except if you are an apple technician, or you're a cheap shmuck trying to run pro apps on a Macbook.. just cause it looks like a Macbook pro doesn't mean it performs like one :) (you can however be forgiven being a cheap shmuck when having to buy from Core)
 
perhaps the reviews on specific things should be reviewed by ppl who actually have an understanding of what the potential buyer would be looking for?

As pointed out the review was lame, trackpad thats better than the iphone? what the hell is he on about?
It has 2 Gb of ram.....great, what type of ram? because thats one of the big jumps between old and new...
how about mentioning the oddity of the NEW macbook pro 17" still being in the old style?
Benchmarks would be great, or a justification on why its so expensive?
Or the "one piece" concept they had...Or the annoying for me gloss screen

SACM has become a joke. I've been a long time reader - stated buying it (then called SA Computer Buyer) in the early 90s. It was awesome. Now it has really poor reviews, their articles on implementing solutions reads like a Microsoft sales pitch, and their news is not very current and often not relevant to the computer industry.

Speak for yourself. I tried Aperture on the new MacBook Pro with the GeForce 9400 graphics. Despite the 500MHz difference in CPU speed, it wasn't perceivably faster than what I'm used to on my 2GHz MacBook with Intel graphics. The MacBooks are more than fast enough for Apple's pro apps. If I get to the point where the MacBook doesn't cut it any more, I very much doubt if the MacBook Pro is going to be a big enough jump - I'll have to start looking at a Mac Pro instead.

I got a Macbook and a Macbook Pro, the Macbook is nice and small and compact and judging by the spec difference in the 2.4GHz models they are so slight! No reason why the Macbook 2.4GHz couldn't do just as much as the 2.4GHz pro.:rolleyes:
 
Yes but that's not what it is designed for... thats my point. Everyone is bitching about the fact the macbook doesn't have firewire; people for whom the Macbook is designed for do not use firewire, so Apple Got rid of it. simple.

That's BS and you know it. If that was true, why did the white and black Macbooks (and iBook before that) all have FireWire. Dropping it is a cost-cutting exercise.
