Went to it. It had a guy from Apple France demo'ing Leopard plus he did a 20 min skit on FCS 2.0. Since I have both products it was wasted on me haha, but I did get to see a few Leopard features in action. :)

I was there as well, just got back.

I'll def be able to use spaces.

O yeah, spoke to the guy from Apple USA and asked him about iTunes. He took the normal Apple line of "dont know, maybe, maybe not, there could be discussion or there could be not". I replied "Yaarrrrr, that's why piracy is such a big issue here in Africa."

And also, the only obstacle to a SA iTunes store is the local music company's, they want more than Apple is willing to offer.

But since all these media companies are local subsidiraries of EMI, Sony-BMG, Warner etc, I wonder how that can be? I would understand indie
labels or trully locally owned music companies but then Apple could
just negotiate deals with the big guys and sell US/UK music
in an ITMS SA. They prolly don't see us as a big enough market
not worth the lawyer fees of signing contracts.

Look at it like this. Take2.co.za can import US and OZ released DVDs and CDs despite NM/SK releasing
most of the Hollywood catalog under their own label. How come that's so? I smell a rat in the whole
ITMS debacle. Amazon has no issues selling CDs to South Africans yet we can't download
music from their site?

I'm having fun with spaces. Wouldnt mind a better way of differentiating between them all though.

How idiotic are these people?

How idiotic are these people?

These people are EMI, Sony-BMG, Warner, Columbia, whoever else,
all foreign corps who own local subsidiaries. EVEN if purely local
companies operated in SA, those companies would be getting
their foreign music from these big boys who could easily allow
co-licencing to both local companies and Apple ITS.
