Apple "rips off devs" over iOS 5 features: Wi-Fi Sync, iCloud, etc.

May I suggest the creation of a new section called "iHate Apple"?! All these iHaters can post their rubbish there and enjoy the company of fellow iHaters. The rest of us can then skip that section. It will enhance the quality of this forum.

Wow talk about indoctrination. As if Apples censorship isn't enough they now want an Apple style run forum which only consists of positive Apple reviews where the facts get classified as rubbish. Well, okay then.

This is going to happen to OS X as well eventually, I'm willing to bet money on it.

Most def. If they cannot obtain your IP by employing you they'll just steal jailbroken and App Store apps etc and incorporate them into the OS under their draconian laws. There is a developer mutiny brewing in the OS community. The sooner they join the Android ranks, the better for all of us. Apple is becoming everything that they supposedly do not stand for and then some.

Next time you get fscked over by a company remember those words before you biatch & moan ;)

What do you think the odds are of all of the oakes echoing this kind of sentiment having hellopeter accounts Lol? I reckon pretty high...

Amazing. Google's got you right where they want you (and all of us), and YOU accuse others of being indoctrinated. Man, you'll make a good lab rat for a psychology PhD.

Total clickbait trash article. You could make an argument about any Apple feature - that it's ripping off something or that it's just such and such repackaged.

I agree with Synaesthesia on this one....

You could make this argument about so many features, on any damn OS.. its not specific to Apple.. or iOS

I agree. Apple has its strength and weaknesses and I don't mind discussing them, but these haters that will never own an apple product and never plan to will none the less try and ruin the experience of the forum for everyone else..
Its like a certain vegan who will stand and salivate while I eat my steak instead of going away. But then she proceeds to try and lecture me on the evils of meat. Needless to say we don't let mom eat at the table any more...

Really  maybe we just dont want your unbalanced spew all over the place..

Joke is that thanx to Android's openness, if they like something it will just be incorporated into the code and you cant say who did it as its Open Source

So Android dont copy, just assimilate into the collective :)

I would love to know in the life according to the rat, what apple should have done.

They offered the man a job, it was known that they where working on the features and he didn't take out any kind of protection, be it even a trademark.

Must they simply stand back and say sorry if you want that you need to jailbreak your phone?

Precisely... we have no idea why it was rejected, only that it was rejected...

For all we know, it was rejected because Apple had something similar in the works already... or it just contravened the way it should interact with iOS....

And also, for all we know the developer was offered at job, but turned it down because he wanted more money or something of that nature.

Actually it was rejected because it used private API's that Apple used to change system files. Changing any system files is a Auto-rejection, doesn't matter what the app does.

If they allowed it, they would have to please and explain all the other rejections because of this.

Only way to find private API's is to decompile Apple's bins or have an inside source, he can be glad Apple didn't take him to court, but instead offered him a job.

Well there we go then....

That puts this little rant into perspective in my opinion...

the wifi-sync feature that this developer used just exploited what was already there, apple decided to make it live for ios5, just the same old apple FUD.

The feature wasn't already there, true Apple was working on it but it was not in the code at all.

So by your logic if apple offers you a job you must accept it (they did not offer him a job, they only aksed for his CV), if you don't they are free to bend you over and reem you and that is your fault?
