I have a horror story with an Imac, that I bought on leaving the UK, and never worked.
The machine, was sent to a S.Africa (Apple service centre), and returned to me, un-fixed.
I brought it back to the UK, where local Apple, told me :
The internal cables connecting the motherboard to the Screen had been severed (its in a closed box, only opened by an authorised rep).
The Ram had been stolen.
The initial fault, of a faulty power-supply wasnt fixed, but on trying, the motherboard got blown.
I would seriously advise, anyone buying an Apple from an overseas vendor, to get multi-yr warranties, and return it to be fixed out of country.
Local agents .. well, I was robbed by them, and have unpleasant things to say.
