Hi All,

Anyone here own an Apple TV? I've got the new one but it keeps dropping the Home Sharing connection to my laptop and my iPhone which have my series/movies. It's VERY annoying and I've seen a lot of people on the Apple forums have the same issue.

Anyone experiencing the same/have managed to find a fix?

:cry::cry::cry:

Over wifi? It could be related to the wifi issues some users have

My Apple TV's did the same with AirPlay mirroring. Changed my wifi router from a d-link to an asus: made no difference. I then got the new Airport Express and everything now works perfectly.

Ok - I tried changing the wireless channel but no luck.

Eventually found the problem: It's got to do with multicast routing which some routers don't do that well. Found this link: http://overkill.tumblr.com/post/19157123222/homesharingfix. That made me google my specific router number which gave me this: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2059353. Updated my router firmware and hey presto - haven't had any issues since.

Basically - if your ATV gives you problems - just update your router firmware first to make sure that's not the problem.

Thanks for your suggestions though guys!
