Hi guys
This is all very new to me
But what would the minimum line requirement be that I would need to for apple tv
Viewing Netflix's etc

Tia.

Yes, at least a 4Mbps.

Try to not share the connection when streaming.
First test and then add devices and see when enough devices are using the internet.

2Mbps is ok if its the only device.. 4Mbps is more do-able and caters for some 'other' concurrent uses/users at your location (in a great location, u can even stream two tvs and surf.. but see below).

The thing about Netflix, youtube etc is that they dynamically rate limit to adapt to available thus i use to use it at 1Mbps.

BUT before you go getting the slowest line, note the 'concurrent' use i mentioned and that this has not factored in DSL exchange congestion which is typically what makes it suffer i.e. u get 4Mbps to exchange but the area serviced by exchange vs fibre link to back-end/backhaul link is either old or not large enough to cater for traffic in peak hours i.e. 4pm-11pm (if co-habitating with business ares thats 10am-11pm). <-- this is a MAJOR factor that will influence your experience. e.g. Claremont/Wynberg exchange in Cpt = just don't bother with ADSL rather vs the exact same line speed in northern sandton where its more of a legacy line and u have little contention.

At least get a 4 Mbps line, Netflix and YouTube is quite smart managing with the internet speed you give it, so it will give you the best picture quality possible.
My sister has 4 Mb ADSL at her place and she streams YouTube, Netflix and Showmax just fine straight on her Samsung TV. I don't know specifically what the Apple TV will do with a slower connection, all I know is that it works great with a faster one, my connection averages around 15 Mb.

4meg line if you are alone and want 720p.
10meg if there are more than just you and you'll get 1080p.
20meg line if you want 4k.
