Not sure what you are asking here ....
If you want to test Dolby Atmos via the Apple TV, the easiest ways are
- Netflix as it has a lot of native Atmos content
- There are a few series on Apple TV+ with Atmos soundtracks
- Amazon Prime has Atmos content
- Disney+ has Atmos content
- Rent a movie via iTunes that has an Atmos soundtrack
VLC does not output Atmos on the Appe TV (as it does not use the AVPlayer technology that the ATV uses to pass through Atmos).
According to what i googled, youtube has no atmos so don't even tryI’m thinking a Dolby Atmos trailer like the below as opposed to a full movie

Correct. The Youtube app on the ATV does not output Atmos.According to what i googled, youtube has no atmos so don't even try
https://firecore.com/infuse
Steps needed:
1. Download Infuse player on the ATV
2. Map a drive to your pc
3. "Obtain" a demo Atmos file from the high seas
and Bob is your uncle. Infuse does Atmos on the ATV as long as the file has Atmos embedded in a Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) soundtrack.

The media players should be able to play the media yes but the Xbox is the best media player by far and not enough people know about it.Nope, as expected doesn’t support Dolby Atmos either.

Okay rephrase that it seems there is support for some files because my Halo rips work with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
However the official Dolby Atmos demos I have in full lossless Dolby Atmos don’t work where they do on other platforms.
So it seems it only supports the lower end Dolby Digital Plus codec for Dolby Atmos.
Even so it’s exorbitantly expensive for what is very limited function and otherwise pretty kak app (compared to Plex) and not worth the money over rather just firing up my Xbox for something I really want to want in DA and DV then.
Interestingly it made me question why Plex still can’t do it then and I played the same file there and to my surprise Dolby Vision is now supported in Plex but the file actually doesn’t play at all with wheel spinning and the audio doesn’t switch to DA.
Something to go fiddle with tomorrow.
Maybe @drzoidberg has some comments?

I'm assuming it's because it's basically a PC but it plays every type of audio and video codec you can think of other than AV1 but they could have a software decoder for that, I don't know.
As I've mention in my OP relating to Infuse, it only decodes Atmos in DD Plus soundtracks, not Dolby TrueHD soundtracks. Most streaming services uses DD Plus as it is a compressed soundtrack that takes less space/bandwidthNope, as expected doesn’t support Dolby Atmos either.

Dolby Digital Plus provides a lossy or compressed audio signal while Dolby TrueHD provides a lossless or almost fully uncompressed audio signal. Both can include Dolby Atmos, but at different quality levels. Dolby Digital Plus doesn't provide as much detail in the audio as Dolby TrueHD.
The Dolby Atmos test BluRay disc contains both DD Plus and TrueHD and you can switch between the tracks in the DVD menu. Just obtain a rip that used the DD Plus track.
