Anyone have any opinions on the Apple Watch ? Worth it?

The Vitality deal looks appealing, but you need to sign up for a Discovery Card, and there are some initial and monthly costs from what I can remember.

What happens if you take the card, get the Watch then cancel the card?

You won't be able to cancel the card as far as I know, you need it so they can debit your account if you don't make your weekly goals.

Didn't a bunch of people come up short when they changed the terms of the 'free' deal to goals that were largely unattainable??

Many people did, and at the time Discovery made a lot of ridiculous excuses. But I believe they eventually backed down and implemented sensible limits.

Is there any forumites that has taken this deal from Discovery to get the watch and how do you find it to obtain the goals weekly?

I see on their website you have to complete your personal goals but nowhere does it state what that goals are.

Like I dont go to the gym but I do jog and cycle weekly on my own, so as far as I can see it is still doable if you have the watch to track your exercise .

Any more details could be helpfull.

The maximum points you'll eventually need is 900 per week.

I did the first watch and am currently on the next watch as well.

The goals are easy enough to obtain, but I have missed a few especially in the winter months because I was lazy. You just have to jog or cycle etc 3 times a week at maximum. I jog 2 and get quite a few steps because of the nature of my work.

They did change the point system mid first contract I could get 1500 points previously on my long run, but now the maximum is 300 points per run. The cap is 900 points though. Previously it was 1200, but you could achieve it in one run.

Ok awesome, I am already doing park runs on weekends, so I just need to get my jogs or cycling registered then it would be good enough.

Yes, but do keep in mind that not all people get the maximum heart rate that easy. I can jog/cycle for 25 minutes and just let my heart rate average out in the last 5 minutes and I will still clear the 80% threshold. My one friend that jogs with me struggles to get to 70%. And your steps will also give you quite a few points.
