Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular??

damn, I would love to get the Apple Watch but the other non cellular watches will be a waste.

So do clarify. The watch would work with whichever network adopts it?
So I can buy one when launched in USA and then wait.

Istore says they won't be getting LTE VERSION in the foreseeable future.
Vodacom and Mtn shops, so called helplines don't have s clue.
Except for a manager at one Vodacom shop who actually tried very hard to get an answer
from head office this has been very frustrating.

Apple store guy in Sandton City said they expect the decides at the end of Dec.

They are busy negotiating deals and arrangements with the MNO's.

I think its worth the wait. Running or Cycling with just your watch will be awesome!

ZedOne you should give us a review when you get your hands on it.

Commenting to sub, and because I'll probably forget year end. I don't view the Apple Watch as competition to my Garmin Forerunner, but leaving my phone behind during runs would indeed be awesome.

Hi guys.
Does anyone know when the lte version of the Apple watch will launch here in RSA.
BOTH Mtn and Vodacom have stated they will support the E sim publicly, however I've tried both thier shops, costumer support, emails etc.
They haven't clue about the product let n alone the launch date.

I tried the istore and they emailed me back to say they will not be getting it for the foreseeable future.

You can do this already. My Apple Watch Series 2, does not need a phone attached to it to do that.

As for Vodacom supporting the eSim... its about bloody time.

I think he is referring to being able to be contacted whilst doing that.

Im sure we'll see this tech soon.. heres to hoping.

Just remember that in the US the cellular one works great because things like music streaming doesn't count towards your data cap.

In SA you'll probably not get the same deal, as Apple music isn't zero rated there. Nor does any of the banks support Apple Pay.
So you'll literally just getting the cellular watch to be reachable via a phone call.

So disappointed
Core saying it won't b bringing it In In the near future, unless Vodacom can do us a solid we wont b getting it here

Music streaming certainly does count against your data for most cellular plans in the US. Telkom in SA DO have a plan which includes uncapped music streaming from Apple Music https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/shop/plan/telkom-lit_2017/

Not sure what relevance the banks not supporting Apple Pay has to do with whether the watch has cellular? In any event you can make use of Apple Pay on the Apple Watch without a cellular / wifi connection. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205547

So literally nothing in your post is correct.
