The fun is finally over for the Apple Watch Series 3 looks like I’ll be shopping for a new Apple Watch later this year then.
I have to say I’m impressed at Apple’s support of this device and my old iPad Air 2 (losing support after 8 years).
I got the Watch Series 3 in 2019 when it was already 2 years in the market, used it from 2019 to 2022, pretty damn good.
Going to see what comes out this year and make a decision from there.

Unfortunately software support for the first gen only lasted 3 years, it ended way back in 2018 already.
I would love to have a newer gen model with all the features, watch faces etc. that the latest models have, but for now my one still serves me well.

Look, don't get me wrong as I'm a total Apple Fanboi. But geesh I just couldn't get myself to buy an Apple Watch, purely because it becomes obsolete so quickly. Yes, it still works when they stop supporting it but it gets less smart as time goes on, although you still need to charge it everyday. And woe becomes you if it breaks. For perspective; I'm wearing a 50 year old watch right now. It was broken when I got it and I could still get parts to repair it.
The fitness lifestyle is by far the best reason to get an Apple Watch imo. I love the hell out of mine. If that isn't a concern for you, then don't bother. The Apple Pay ability is pretty sick as well.
The cost is irrelevant if you're with Discovery. Free Apple Watch every two years.
