Apple Watch thread

And here I shower with mine when I shower at the gym, one of the guys I train with showers with it every day.
Yeah, I'm sure the manufacturer recommendations are overly cautious. Probably fine to shower, unless your water pressure is enough to crush a riot. Might become an issue as the device ages.

I did shower / bath with an older Apple watch and it was mostly fine during its lifetime but I think the speaker and the screen coating was affected by it. I don't wear my current watch in the bath and shower and it seems cleaner and no issues with the speaker so far.

Everyone with a Huawei and Garmin sauna with it. Pitty Apple isn't on Huawei level yet.

Shower/swimming is 100% fine (they are rated to 50m). Sauna is the wildcard
Been swimming with mine for years, that why I got it. Wear it when in the ocean as well.

Dont sauna with it on.

I suppose with a cheap Huawei watch it doesn't matter too much if you eventually screw up the water resistance by damaging the seals and then drown the watch.
The ones I have seen;

#1 Same price as Apple
#2 Tracks more metrics, and better health resolution.
#3 Much longer battery life.

In all honestly, Apple has a lot of catching up to do in the Watch space.

Fitbit & Huawei is a few generations ahead of the pack.

Sounds like you're being ripped off, here they mostly retail around £150, even the titanium GT3 Pro is only around £250.
Correct same price as a Watch 5/6

Yet it has better capability than a Watch 7

Installed watchOS 9 - trying out the new low power mode to see if there's a difference:

I also installed watchOS9 but haven't tried low power mode yet, enjoying the new watch faces \ always on mode and changing watch faces with different focus modes too much to sacrifice them right now :)

Presuming that's via the beta/dev programme. Rest of us plebs will have to wait until Monday

Watch usage for the weekend:

Friday 7am - 1am on Sat. including 60m fitness tracking on Friday
Saturday 8am - 12pm, wore a different watch for the rest of the day
Sunday 7/8am - 5pm, watch was at 12% battery at this point, could probably squeeze out another 5hrs with conservative use

Not going to turn it into a week long affair, but will definitely give you a bit of a boost depending on how you use it of course.

Is that in low power mode? What model \ series do you have?

I have an S7 cellular. Even without low power mode mine typically lasts a day and a half unless I've been using cellular which really eats the battery.

I haven't even gotten around to test LP mode yet, just enjoying the other WatchOS9 features.

Yup, LP mode on Series 6, GPS only.
