Does anyone know what the green dots mean under the date?

I ended up taking the R30/months 500mb topup package from MTN, the absolute cheapest option out their and they the only provider who supports eSIM for both iPhone and AppleWatch, so I am using it as a secondary line with my prepaid physical sim as the main line.

So do you activate this as a eSim on the phone as well as the Apple Watch ?

Yep. So if you want to go throw route, learn from my mistake.

There is no physical sim in this mix, if the person at MTN gives you one, ask him to perform a sim swap to an eSIM.

Also this can only be done at anTN direct store, franchise stores cannot do this, I had to drive 45km for one.

Once your eSIM is loaded to your phone you can add it to your watch, save yourself some time and get your account setup on MTN in the mean time, once you login and confirm something it’s R25/mo for the 2nd line link.

Thanks for that.

Are MTN charging R25 per month for the esim?

For the 2n “line” so basically the phone and watch are considered independent lines or something that, that share the same number.

As technically once your watch is no longer within BT range or is off the same Wi-Fi network, it can receive your calls and texts independently, it has its own connection to the network.

All providers charge for it and as far as I know they all also charter R25, and it’s pretty much a global thing to pay extra when adding additional lines to your account.

It is also actually possible to just do this with 2 phones. You’d put a physical sim in 1 and an eSIM in the other and they’d both receive the calls and texts, and whatever else goes via the network, they’d both be able to use data. They are both separate and joined at the same time.

I'm sure it will eventually make it's way to PAYG...

Once SIM starts becoming not an option they’ll have no choice, but as I understand it, at least in our country, there is a considerable amount of rollover amongst prepaid and it’s just not constant viable yet to do so.

Support in general is dismal with Vodacom not support phones at all, and not even supporting it on Topup lines. Last I checked CellC was the same and Telekom only supported select Tier 1 phones and no wearables.

One thing I will say about the Alpine loop, if you train a lot it gets fragrant, and soap or omo have extremely short lived effects.

Took a few months to get this way and I washed at least twice a week, but now it’s getting to be a daily requirement.

Gonna get myself one of the ocean lips. Think silicone more suitable to an active lifestyle.

Pretty nice strap for R500, would really like to know what makes the official one worth R2200.

That being said I got the knock-off alpine strap and that was actually rubbish, the quality was meh and it was thicker, less comfy and much harder to adjust. The clips where also plastic which had more flex in them than I would like.

The only first-party bands I own for AW are the ones that came with the watch... the pricing on official bands is just whacked.

Apple watch series 8 always on display... yay or nay?

I used mine on my Series 5 forever and a day until the battery starting struggling and now I’ve turned it off.

Would definitely want it on otherwise, unless the sensitivity for raising the watch has become so much better you never need to “help” it.
