Apple Watch thread

Putting on the Apple Watch Series 10 made me realize Apple has made a watch. Not just a smartwatch, but a watch, and there’s a distinct and important difference between the two words.

To understand how this has come about, we need to go back in time to the Apple Watch Series 3 and compare it to the latest version. After doing so, I think you’ll begin to appreciate how much the Apple Watch has evolved since those early days and how it’s now set to forge a new path forward.

As a longtime Apple Watch user who upgraded to the Apple Watch Series 10 a few weeks ago, I was stunned to see the amazing battery life I got out of the device. The Series 10 comes with the same 18-hour “all-day” battery life estimate as its predecessors. But I’m getting 30 to 36 hours of use on a single charge. It’s far better than I could have dreamed.

I did make one change to the Apple Watch Series 10, and I thought that would explain the significantly improved battery life experience. I disabled the Always On functionality, as that’s something I don’t need from the Apple Watchright now.
Poor Dolby.

Seen posts about this being a thing but as far as I know Apple has not come out and officially declared it a feature so maybe undercover testing but yesterday it tracked my nap and then I hit the wrong shortcut so was in DND instead of sleep mode all night and this all looks pretty on point to me.
