Apple's finance options

alf101 - I'll buy two cash. Friend in S.A. wanted to know for me what the finance is like. Not sure why he asked me though - I must be the only person he knows that own a Mac.

It's also a bit like the family. Because I work in IT it is a given that I know every single piece of software ever written inside out...

One of the small joys of living abroad - they *have* to find someone else to fix their computers....

Hehe. But remember, calls overseas are cheaper. So now it is expected that you have to call them at your expense and direct them over the phone to fix the problems.

You can never win....

Nah - its easier to get them to buy mac's :)

And with remote desktop being included with the new iChat life gets even easier next month. :D

bwana, the family will never go down that route. Unless *I* buy them Macs

Considering the lack of gratitude they've shown for my efforts so far - ain't gonna happen... :D

Unfortunately all the elderly in my family already has PCs. My dad, an electronic engineer who used to design computers (way before the PC era) struggles the most. Put's Windows' supposed user friendliness into perspective...

The only other person in my family who has a Mac is my ever fashion concious aunt, who bought it because it was white and so pretty. I hope the rest will follow suit - aside from setting up her internet and mail initially, she hasn't needed any help with anything at all.

I don't think you're being persuasive enough :p

:D

I tried long and hard to get my parents to buy iBooks.

Despite having two adult children using macs, he bought an HP mega laptop (+$2500 each) for him and one for my mom. They have since had multiple problems, replaced screens, security, etc.

My other bro has been debating a laptop for ages... I don't get what he has issues with, we tell him to just get a basic mac. it will do MySpace and Youtude reliably just like a pc, but without the Windows hassle involved. ;)

Some will just never move over into the lighter (and easier) side of life.

Oh... BTT... I think credit card financing is just as good if not better. Tell your friend just to buy with the card, he/she can pay off asap or transfer balance to lower rates when available.

I seem to think the terms in Apple financing is not that great really.
