hello appliance repair specialists..

i have a hob with solid plates.. didnt buy it brand new, came with the place i bought.. now, the plates do not heat up for shyte..!!! they get hot, but even with a pot of fresh boiling water from the kettle, the plates can not get the water heated up to a rolling boil and maintain it.. this is for all the plates as well..

am i looking at a new hob or new plates or new thermostats or new whats..?
 
Hmm... Usually it's either on or off but could well be rheostats or whatever controls the heat
 
rip it out and spend R3500 on a gas stove, i had the same when i bought my place, havent looked back since,
 
And on electricity ,a 4 kg cylinder costs under R100 to fill, and lasts around 5 to 6 weeks
