I ordered ADSL today. Good lord what an effort.

The systems are down so they took my details and will phone me back when they're up again. BAH

The prices are huge... Once off charge of R404.00 and then a minimum line charge of R270.00. Because you only get billed after one month (apparently) this means I'll get billed for R404 + R92 +R92 + R270 + R270 on my first month of actually having adsl. So R1128 minimum first bill. BAH

This compared to an offering by BT for £28.99. 2MB line, free anti-virus and firewall, 20 free songs on iTunes and a GUIDELINE useage of 40 gigs. BAH

The fun continues because I'll have to wait 3-8 weeks before they'll even consider doing my order. None of this "We'll have it done in 11 days" crap.

And with all this I get the added bonus of a "Super-advanced cap" at a whopping 3gb. ****ers.

BAH!

Because we desperately need internet at home (been dry for like 3 months now).

Iburst doesn't cover us, Wireless is less than pathetic and GPRS is too expensive.

well dude think about this when pay them 1000 its for 2months!!!!

what difference your still paying for 2 months not one

makes sense to me why they do it

It's true that it's for two months. But still. I'm allowed to be offended that a company generally hailed as being utterly crap is still half as expensive as ONE month of Telkom's charges.
