Hi all,

Just wanna find out quickly, I phoned telkom the other day and tried my luck (again) at getting a telkom line installed at my house (especially now that there are all these super cheap uncapped deals, as well as all the positive reviews about Afrihost etc :D) but nobody answered so i sent an email. This morning i got a voicemail from a 027 201 01XX number saying that i can get a line and that i must check my email and reply with my details to a [email protected] email address. The information includes my name, ID number, address, contact details etc. The email was from a AE NATIONAL with email address ([email protected]). So getting to the point, can anybody tell me if this is a valid telkom email etc? Im just a bit paranoid about sending people my personal details... also that xxxxxjj1@telkom.co.za looks a bit dodgy and when i googled the 027 201 01XX number theres no information, besides other people who are also wondering what number it is (most have also applied online for a landline btw). What makes me feel a bit off is that one lady said she had also received a voice mail from them but she did not apply, her husband applied a long time ago and they called on her number which he did not give telkom in the first place. Or maybe im paranoid haha its worse since that guy found that suspicious activity on his standardbank login page.

Thanks for the help!

Much better just to go into a Telkom Direct store. Especially if you are already feeling edgy about sharing personal info over the net.

They seem to be all over now, so chances are there is one nice and close to where you live.

Sigh.. guess you're right. I just dont have good experiences with telkom stores. haha but thanks anyway

If you are expecting good experiences from ANY part of Telkom, you are setting yourself up for some serious disappointment :erm:

Good luck though either way!
