Appropriate ADSL line speed for a webcam

I have a webcam on an HP laptop and I want to use it with skype to contact family members overseas. Currently have a 384kb ADSL line. Is that suitable for a webcam or do I need to get a higher line speed?

My old lady has a 384k line and we chat on Skype with webcams all the time. No lag at all. Have to remember to put a shirt on before I answer my Skype calls.

talk to family in the UK often wit skype and video on a 384k line wit no problem at all

If you have a problem use unshaped cap. Normal skype conversation (without vid) uses <10% of the line, but more on unshaped. You'll probably see a similar effect on vid.
