I have a 10 Mbps uncapped account with MWEB and I'm only getting 8.7 Mbps at best. Is this acceptable?

My downstream attenuation is 27.5 db, noise margin is 14.5, current rate is 10 120 Kbps and max rate is 20 000 kbps.

Your line is a 10mbps ADSL and you achieve 8.7mbps - sounds right. I get 7 to 8 mbps. Don't think you ever get the full potential speed.

Okay thanks. I just guessed it would be at least above 9 Mbps.

Depends on how far you are situated from your exchange and the contention.

You mean sync speed or what you get when running a speedtest?
10Mbps sync speed is not the same as a speedtest, you have to take into account line overheads which make up to 17% of the line (limitation of DSL).
You should be getting just over 8Mbps.

EDIT:
At the end of the day you're looking at between 13 and 15% overhead, compared to 17% on ADSL.
