So far skype and News24 are not working properly on IOS 4. Anyone having the same issues?
Also has anyone noticed a drop in performance on 3G's? My 3GS works great, but 3G seems sluggish.
Lastly, old wallpapers have gone - anyone know where to redownload these?

News24 works properly on mine... although if you dont close your applications you had open properly, the performance (and battery usuage) gets affected significantly.
The applications will stay open in the backgound if you dont kill them via the double home button tap.

My news24 is also not working with OS4 - it closes itself automatically. But I'm sure news24 will release an update soon - that is on my white 3GS, I have kept my black iPhone 3G with it's old software for now.

On iOS 4:

News24 closes after a second or 2 displaying the spinning Update symbol.

Skype seems to be OK although I have not used it for a call yet.

The game The Creeps! doesn't run, but a quick email to the dev got the answer that an update has already been submitted to Apple and should be up soon. The New24 app is working for me. I have a 3G.

Tethering nor working anymore

I have a 3GS on Vodacom and had tethering working, until I upgraded to iOS 4 and had the operator settings updated (as recommended by iTunes), now my Thethering does not seem to work. I plug in my iPhone and it does not connect to the internet as before. Anyone else?

My tethering is working fine, it was the first thing I checked. Bluetooth and USB both OK.

3GS, iOS4 & Vodacom carrier settings 7.1

Mine seems to be stable.
loving the new OS.
but yes, a couple of apps being weird (news24 too). will just wait for updates.

Duckie,
what do you mean by carrier settings 7.1?
sorry, its just that my 3G hasnt been working for 3 months no matter what settings i try, and im not prepared to be without a phone for a month if vodacom needs to send it in.
just thinking maybe you know what the problem is?

After iOS 4 was installed and the phone restarted, there was a "Carrier Settings" update from Vodacom. The previous version was 7, new version 7.1. The carrier settings file is what tells the iPhone how to work with the Vodacom network, and (I guess) what services are available (e.g. tethering).

Not sure if it came over the web (like the iOS 4 software) or OTA (Over The Air).

I'll have to check my mail settings again, push email worked fine for my two mailboxes on 3.1.3, but does not work with 4.0 OS.

News 24 fooked indeed.

I removed skype in anticipation of it becomming a charged service on iphone. Fook skype.

News24 not working on my 3GS. Skype gave an error when it first started, but has been fine since. Haven't tried a call yet.

To be honest I have not tried tethered internet, but I will probably do this with my MacBook a bit later.

I did get my wireless BT keyboard working with the iPhone - don't know where I would ever use that combo, but it works! :)

What else is new with this OS?

Reset network settings. Did the job for my VVM.
