Hi...

dunno if this has been discussed before (and please point the thread out to me if it has) but does anyone know why apps with a .sis extension refuse to install on my N73?

Is it a firmware version issue?

On the newer symbian os's you either need to have the applications signed, or you need to turn off/down the system security to allow installation and running of unsigned apps...

Goto menu. Tools. App manager. Options. Settings and change software installation to "all" and online certif check to "off" Hope that helps.

Also make sure that the apps you are installing are meant for S60 3rd edition since this is what the N73 uses older apps for the N70 for example won't work since it is 2nd edition.

Will have to check this. Besides the download site, is there any other way to check this?

Type in *#0000# to see your version. It should say V3. If not run the Nokia software updater from Nokia's site.
Make sure that the app you're trying to install supports v3.

If you have turned off app manager's certificate check and your phone's date is correct then check the app you're trying to install's support website.
