Had aquariums for years. If you dont have a load shedding solution dont do it. They look great dont get me wrong but unless you have a few hours to spare dont do it.

Now if you installing and someone else is looking after it then all good

Sounds like your old and/or lazy.

If you're going to throw your money in the water like that, isn't it way easier to just start a MyBB back-a-buddy thread?

You can turn this into a fishtank

I have a reef tank. It’s a labour of love. If your not into it or want zero maintenance get a brick as a pet.
Rubbish, lots of people use companies to assist with maintenance. As long as the animals are looked after there’s no issue.

I maintain my own reef, but your comment is retarded - like a lot of stuff you say.

So sorry, did I assume you maintain your own tank? Below you. Must be for poor plebs like me right?

Friend of mine has a massive fishtank in his house when he bought it 4 years ago, I would guess around 2000 litres. His Kodak inverter is connected straight to it for loadshedding and he says his fish will be very uncomfortable if there are 4hr loadshedding slots, which he experiences often as he falls under Eskom in West Beach, and not under Cape Town. Funny thing is you can see Koeberg from his house but he falls out of Cape Town for some weird reason.

Edit: If I recall his fishtank is drawing a constant 500 Watts of power 24hrs a day

Thanks for your replies, well some of them lol, myBB never disappoints….I have recently installed a proper 12kw solar system with battery backup. I am still looking for reccomendations of companies in Cape Town that can install and maintain aquariums.
