Arbitrage betting

yup, they're actually incredibly sophisticated on the data analytics side to catch stuff like that

and they don't care if they happen to be on the winning side while you're arbing, both sides will look to catch and ban you

I've actually helped build countermeasures for arbing at one of the major UK sports betting players ... so if you got banned, I'm sorry :X3:
How does one monitor this? Monitor arbing opportunity vs time of bet I suppose?

there are arb websites that track arb-ing opportunities between different betting sites in real time

it is used by arbitrage betters, but also by the bookmakers to see what's what

on the books though the bookmaker will check for certain behaviours to catch arb-ing e.g.:
- people who win more often than the norm
- people who place many, typically lower value bets
- people who cost the bookmaker money over their lifetime of betting

they don't need to catch every single instance of it, to make significant money you'd have to do it often and establish a pattern, they just look out for the pattern

Still trying to find a way to beat the roulette wheel efficiently, much better chance than markets or sport IMO 'cos of the single human control element - some of the croupiers can spin a zero quite often when the betting calls for it, and if you're practiced you can see a "wrist twitch" when they do sometimes. But you can't hang around the same table afterwards.

Beating the roulette odds - ran my own algorithms code for years, nothing really works.
Blackjack - they watch you too closely to do card counting.
Kraps - don't know, doubt I care.

Best way to make money at the casino is a) be employed by it or b) rob the company or the patrons or a combination thereof if you think you can pull it off

Are gambling houses allowed to force you to wager 10x your deposit.

Apparently I have to wager 10x my deposit and seems to be targeted.

you mean you need to do that in order to redeem some sort of sign-up bonus (or another kind of bonus)?

or just in general you can't bet anything less?

the former is pretty standard practise, the latter seems strange

No bonus. It’s a normal deposit. What I do, do is place a low risk bet but still taking risk and withdraw it if I win.

Used to do this full time when I lived in England, hard work to stay ahead of the bookies and I'm sure there are some bookies I'm still banned from in some towns eight years later.
