I just called Axxess and they said there are accounts are all hardcapped, no local after capped, is this true for all ISP's except SAIX and IS?

close except its only IS that dont....Axxess sell SAIX bandwidth BTW
even then its capped at 30gig

U got things a bit mixed up zubs...

There are only 2 suppliers of bandwidth to ISP's - SAIX and IS.
So either your ISP buys its bandwidth from SAIX or from IS.

All SAIX based ISP's (the majority) will be hardcapped from 1st Nov ie. no local after cap.

All IS based ISP's will give you local access after your cap (eg. if you get a 5gig acc; once you've used up your 5gigs, youll get 25gigs local access after that)

Currently ... Axxess & SAOL recon they're putting in their own IPC links and associated bw ... should get interesting.

but where do they buy their bandwidth from...IS...UUNET...or SAIX...
They arent big enough to compete even if they do have their own IPC...why is it UUNET pulled thier adsl products...why is it MWEB dont make use of IPC...
Running you own IPC doesnt magically fix anything...infact its more likely to make things less reliable, slower and more expensive

Or the 3 months loophole, ended up in serious profit for these companies ;-)

No, what about the Telkom users, you know the people who buy accounts from Telkom, i meant those, are they going to be capped?

Yes they will, if not, expect the holocaust to begin soon.
