Are all women classed under "EE"?

I know BEE and all the sub-acronyms are just another way of saying "no white people, especially male" but I've been told that "EE" (economic empowerment) covers all women, including white women.

Does anyone know if this is true? It's impossible to find any good sources on the definition of EE in South Africa and if it still even exists.

In addition to this, does it cover women who are not S.A Citizens but have work permits and SA ID documents?

the Employment Equity act states the following:

"designated groups" means black people, women and people with disabilities

so yes the current legislation covers all women, however there is talk of government changing this to exclude white women (I think this may already be part of some of the new legislation currently before parliament - but i stand to be corrected)

Thanks OMB. I'd be inclined to think that if that's what it says in the document on their website, that's what it must be - but who knows if the site is at the latest revision.

Correct.theyre talking about excluding white woman as theyre saying that they also benefitted from apartheid.
