Are Broadband suppliers able to ramp up data usage?

I currently use two broadband suppliers and notice that an internet trading session to an overseas broker uses close to double the data on the one service provider for the same time period/tasks.

Can there be such a big difference in data usage between suppliers to connect to an overseas platform? If not, can one of the suppliers be ramping up the usage some how to overcome discounted pricing on data?

Thank you

No. Data is data is data.

If your trading session uses x, it will send/receive x. Nothing in transit should double the data usage unless the trading application you are using is doing it itself.

Maybe one is counting downloads only, and the other is counting total traffic?

Thanks for the reply. I have checked on that and both def measure total traffic. Is there a credible way to accurately record ones data usage?

Install PRTG or bitmeter or some other monitoring system.
