getting mega lag and lots of page time outs on local and internation :(

Hey man are still connected while the pages don't load, or does you line drop completely? Check your router to see your "Connection Status" when your pages don't load and see how long you have been online. If it says offline, or that you have been online for like 1 minute or so then your line is dropping. You sync is a lot better than mine (SNR 14/12 Attenuation 38/20) and I get dropped sometimes 30+ times a day :( .
-Either ask Telkom to monitor your line to see if they can find a fault
-Or some people have said you get better syncs at lower speeds (You might have to go down to 2mb or 1mb)

If you are not getting disconnected then it could be one of the many major cable faults that have been happening lately. Like the one in Rosebank or the Earthquake a few weeks ago thats causing the connection timeouts.
-You just have to wait till they fix it. Generally the MAJOR faults get sorted relatively quickly as they have the highest priority and affect the most people.

Hope you get sorted.

I have the same problem, lots of lag, plenty time outs and reconnects like there"s no tomorrow.

Line Attenuation 17.0 36.6 dB

Startup attempts 110 (just this last 90 minutes)

This has been going on for the last eight weeks, the first techie came to fix it after four weeks, but the next day it was down again.
Two days ago another techie came to fix it,but two hours later the line went down again.
Today they fixed it again and five minutes after the techie left guess what......that's right, the line just went back to switching itself on and off. So if they get around to fixing yours please let me know what the problem was. This is driving me insane! (i am also starting to think that my modem sync light is flashing in morse code, it seems to be spelling ...S.....O.....S.... lol):D

Hope you get up and running soon.

I have no clue. You are only on a 384k line, and I thought one of the major reasons for my disconnects was that my line couldn't sync properly at 4mb. Yourse sounds even worse than mine.

Hope you get sorted soon.

I had similar probs after upgrade to 4mb with Dlink 504T, so I tried out a new router. The netgear dg834gt with good results. It syncs at lower speeds, about 3360 kbps but with much better line stability. Usually only have to reboot router once a day

curious.. which firmware you had on the 504T
