Certain suburbs in South Africa experience lower stages of load shedding, or in some cases no load shedding at all. There are multiple reasons for this.

Do you live in an area that is exempt from load shedding?

In Cape Town they do not know what LS is because the DA is so great they saw this coming and introduced a great solar policy early on and now every house and business is stacked with panels and there is so much surplus that the entire world can be supplied 7 times over. Besides the great solar policy the DA also built mini nuclear stations as standby for cloudy days. Welcome to Cape Town, the city that works for you!

Sadly not exempted, even though near as I can tell, I'm on the same block / grid / whatever as a hospital.

They just want to see how many ANC members are on the forum.
I remember a couple of years ago on some Facebook group someone asked the unspeakable thing "Why don't we have loadshedding". Needless to say, that person was virtually stoned by the community.

Edit: Some secrets are best kept as secrets. I've also seen some spawns of satan estate agents use it in marketing on property 24

Nope. But there are times, like this past Saturday, where we did not have loadshedding for the whole day.

At home, no, but at work we are exempt. We're on the OR Tambo grid.

I live in Cape Town and am supplied by the municipality, so sometimes I am on a lower stage than Eskom client.

Why did my DA ward councillor not connect my street to this?
