The various Zuma supporting leagues depend on exactly what you say about the fact that many people will not go or those who do won't fight back when intimidated. I really hope they get their behinds handed to them if they try to impede the marches. The government is quick to warn people about consequences but very quiet about the youth league's disruptive marches against "white monopoly capital" which almost always resulted in looking and violence.

I think we should just say what we want for ourselves and not revert to appropriating what somebody else has said (and especially if that person doesn't actually stand for anything else we agree with). The best thing I've seen yet was a statement that said let's not make this about any one political party - even if you're joining the DA events, for example. This is about diverse unity, so don't just wear blue and then be easier to write off. We're South Africans who just so happen to disagree completely with the president.

I just find it funny that a person would still set up a list for an act of freedom of speech but dictate what you can and cannot say.

I'm not going with a Madiba shirt I just find it as if it'll somehow be involved cause Zuma is the polar opposite of Mandela.

That list is obviously not meant to be taken seriously. But using Mandela to 'prove' that you empathise is overdone and easy to see through.

Heck I'm willing to bet that a lot of people had no idea who Kathrada was until the past year. Yet I've never seen anyone mention Kathrada in the same breath despite spending the same amount of time in jail...

Also, please dont block or disrupt other people. Thats not the point of this. Do not block roads, to not cause problems with business. This is a protest march, not a shut down.

Thanks, and I was sneaky with our logo tag line. While my work was used for some negative messaging (zuma must go) I have tried to keep it positive as possible. I stole, "diverse people unite" from the south african coat of arms :D

Is the EFF participating now? On the News24 wrap-up the EFF was down as not participating.
 
This will not be well supported and will embolden Zuma to loot and plunder even more. Total waste of time and counter-productive.
 
A march at 12'clock on a Friday? Well no Muslims are going to pitch at Jumua time. Pity, I know a lot of them would have in Cape Town at least. It would have added to the numbers

Yes, no clue whats happening in the news you are reading but I am working with EFF councillors and an EFF mp is set to address the crowd as the 2nd speaker in our event. Perhaps they are not doing this in party colors like us in the DA in bcmm.

I put on ENCA this morning at 7:50, too see a documentary highlighting the fragile economy and the need for south africans to keep focused on the machine.

NO!!!! i turned that trash off and remembered what Mario Savio said ... Are you suggesting the protest should cater to Muslim sensibilities?

I'm not sure why this irritates me so much; probably because of the sense of entitlement it suggests. Of all the issues we have to examine in relation to the protests and the downfall of the entire country, religious timetables are way down on the list in my opinion.

They are planning peaceful human chains after mosque in my area. Am thinking I will join them.
