Tonnes of whatsapp group messages going around, claiming to be from CPF and the like. Saying stay in doors as its going to be war, etc. This kind of rubbish I normally shirk off, anyone hear anything?

The first one, the dumbass Eddie Murphy looking motherfscker - "DA wants black people (workers) to join their nonsensical march tomorrow just so that their white (DA) bosses can fire them"

Then the fact that any of you lot still have jobs today must be a miracle, right? lol

These social media loudmouths think they're so edgy...so "woke"...so wise to the system! Fact is they are the best example of stupid people falling for propaganda.

The former ministers not quitting out of some sort of moral conscience, I'm afraid. The more likely reason is $$$. Apparently if they quit before serving time as an MP they get their ministerial retirement benefits, however, if they actively serve as merely an MP for any period then they will only get the significantly lower MP benefits when they do quit. Therefore, all the former ministers and deputies are falling over themselves to resign as MPs.
 
Just a heads up for all those going about their business tomorrow, do take note that if you go into work and there are some protestors who damage your vehicle, you may be sad to find that there are clauses in your Insurance specifically saying if your vehicle is covered.. or not
If not - I would say, stay the **** away from work - or run the risk of having to fork out for the *potential* damages
**Look for SASRIA clauses specifically
 
Well hey, look at that. This thread has hit 50 pages, 750 comments and almost 30 000 views. It's good to know it's struck a chord, only a pity about that typical post/view ratio (1 post for every 40 views).

I really wish people would start voicing their opinions a bit more, especially on something this important.

That said, I'm looking forward to it! I hope to meet some of y'all at the DA's Johannesburg event tomorrow :)

Twitter is actually extremely reasonable about this protest, of course there will always be idiots on social media but the majority of social media users are pointing out that this isn't about race, from all races
 
We've received a no work, no pay email. So I guess I'll have to get to the office, one way or the other

This is the part that really pisses me off, you have people who aren't even in the country still willing to make the effort to protest on our behalf.

Yet people who are here in the country, and have no valid excuse (yes some people really can't and I exclude those ones) won't make the effort to protest on their own behalf, and worse some of them feel the need to go around spreading the negativity and trying to insult/discourage the people who are participating.

Really makes me mad.

I can just see the response of the average Londoner to your march.

"Oh no here we go again with these South African Colonials". "Never happy, first it was against Apartheid now it is against the new Government"!

The other reaction will probably be to simply ignore the whole affair.

At least you are not going to be intimidated into not going ahead with your march.

People had been questioning the ruling party's plan to address the large gap between rich and poor, he said at the Presidential Local Government Summit in Midrand.

Radical-socio economic transformation was not scary or vague and did not go beyond what the ruling party had said it was.

"It's nothing like a goggo [insect] or anything beyond what is put by us," he said.

"By radical socio economic transformation we mean the fundamental change in the structure, the system, the institutions and patterns of ownership, management and control of the economy in favour of all South Africans, especially the poor, the majority of whom are African and female," Zuma said.

I am not active on the normal social media platforms. So it was an eye opener to have a look at the few links provided in this thread.

I am not at all impressed. Granted the links are a very small sample and may have been carefully selected to show only the negativity out there towards "whites", or, "Abelunu" or the "Umlungu".

What struck me was how frequently these words are used on Twitter.

It then occurred to me that we have all this noise about the "k word". Surely the above terms are equally offensive and derogatory?

Surely there is a case to be made with the Human Rights Council and all the other institutions so busy with White-on-Black racism charges to also start looking at the reverse?
