Argentina formally rejects BRICS membership

but he didn't invite you...

so to say you rejected his invite would be nonsensical
You are are a sour dimwit. I never implied that in the first place. I said if he invited me to "something", as in the figurative. Brush up on your English.

yes but the issue is not about you, and the scenario you posed is a false equivalence

Argentina is saying we reject your invite, even though no invite was extended.

They were formally invited.... That's actually what it meant when the chairperson of BRICS announced, "We have decided to invite the Argentine Republic and... ...to become full members of BRICS".

okay then I retract what I said

Historically-speaking there are 2 USAs.

The turning point was the reversal in foreign policy.
Let’s assume then - and this is a possibility - that OP is still stuck in the 70s. This was the era of the US that’s fondly look back upon by many right? this was the “good” version.

Why have an issue if a country doesnt want to align with this current “bad” version. Surely it’s an indictment on the US if anything?

Umm, I did lay out my reply....

Seems someone has deleted it for some reason.

Hahaha yeah you have no clue what you are talking about. With a $33 trillion debt America is in deep trouble.
America's manufacturing sector is in the toilet, all done in China now.

Yes America innovates, usually with the latest debauched woke thing to infect the world with.

Doesn't mean I like China or Russia or BRICS+, it's just the way things are headed.

Lol... China is in even bigger debt. They are losing grip on the world stage as more companies are leaving their shores and taking manufacturing elsewhere. The Chinese economy is in bigger trouble than that of the US at this point.

There is no future in Brics. Never was, never will be. It was only South Africa which had a big mouth through the ANC, but as well all know, nothing ever come from what they say. They just managed to convince some people to believe them.

i would imagine someone in the economics dept of an academic institution probably has a somewhat better grasp on economics - both macro & micro, than the rest of us .
