Hi all,

Just to let you know the 1.08 patch for Armed Assualt really improve the gameplay a helluva lot for me. I have no more lag and in fact can play it on pretty much full graphics.

Everything else adds up to smooth gameplay and awesome fun for single-player.

Just a ques...when is the SAIX server going to upgrade?? I saw tonight they are still on 1.05 and man I would love to play online now seeing as the issues I have been having are sorted out :D

pity about the huge download tho so get yourself a local account or maybe the next NAG or PCFormat will have it :/

Would have been super sweet of you to post a download link and size of the patch.

Im to lazy to Google this time of the morning.

LOL goto saix site :p you can download there using a local account.

one second...

edit: http://games.saix.net/servers_arma.php

then click on download game content.

FYI you can download much from SAIX site regarding patches for games played on their servers.
Download was between 500-600meg and that was zipped as well.

I would rather buy a local account from say WebAfrica @ R19 a gig to download game patches like this.

Great news. I'm now gonna get the game

Come Razer get the game so I can kick yo @ss!!!! :p

I love the coop mode though, especially with teamspeak so the guys can plan their next manouver :p

For those of you who haven't played AA its more like a battle sim, unlike BF2 which is fast paced. In AA you can find yourself prone on a hilltop for twenty minutes or more picking off the occasional target and sussing everything out. Although it gets insanely intense when you are held up in a central area in a town and the enemy AI know where your squad is. One shot kills.

Or when a Shilka knows where your chopper is

Sweet. The server was patched, I saw last night. There were at least 14 players when I joined I think. Bear in mind each player can command a squad of AI so that makes a lot of COOP teamies running around

The patch makes it soooo much better.

Gotta wait until it's delivered first and then get some practice. Ain't gonna just go online and get shot to pieces straight away :o

Next month ;):p

So thankful for the damn patch

Bought, arrived, patched and paid for

When can I come return that asskicking? :p

Wait till we play Deathmatch...so far it has only been Coop.

And also in Coop on Evolution map when you get the opportunity to start from scratch without anyone having taken any of the towns yet...try force the guys to storm the church in the first town.

Man if you can get up that hill and fortify yourself by the church with a few players you are bound to find lots of enemy trouble :)

Damn dude, i think im addicted...

I actually passed up one of my all-time fav games: Q3 with 15/16 player to play ArmA !

That says a lot

Hey guys I'm seriously considering buying this game, how popular is it locally? And what is the bandwidth useage like?

BW usage they say is similar to BF2. You will experience game bugs and server lags...last night the SGS server kept timing out and all of us on TeamSpeak were swearing :P

Also Razer0 is having issues with the game crashing (last night he dropped like 15 times lol). However for some reason Im prepared to put up with those issues myself as the game is so addictive :)

For instance the guys were trying to ram a tank off it's side with an Ammo truck and we were all watching them from a hill. Funny shyte happens :p

Its building in popularity. Last night there were around 12 players on average. And the community members are very friendly because the game does take some learning and I have yet to see some1 not willing to help.

I ordered the game guys :D, can't wait for it to arrive from take2. I've already downloaded patch 1.08 and the nuclear scud launcher, you guys have gotta see it. Go into youtube and search arma nuke if you haven't :). I used to love the old OFP, I'm sure this will be just as amazing. BTW does anyone know what ArmA: Queen's Gambit is all about?

BW is like 6k/s

I kept blue screening Jon, so went over to vista and stayed up till 11:30 installing it. Stayed up further till 12:30 playing without any crashes :D

I'm busy spending the last of my cap downloading the Euro 1.04 to 1.05 patch, and the international 1.08 patch, are these the correct ones? I don't know whether I need the international 1.05 patch or the Euro one, does it matter? Also I was wondering, if I was to get an X-DSL IS accont, ie 2G with 28 Local, If I was to play arma on the saix servers at the beginning of the month, would this use international or local bandwidth?
