Armor Proficencies

Hey all

Just a quick Q related to armor proficiency.
When the hell do i get to actually use "Leather"?
I'm sorta stuck in the D2 mindset where you are able to use whatever armor your level allows, but in WOW it states my best armor proficiency is "Cloth".
I read in the manual that this can be increased by visiting your Class Trainer, but alas my Warlock trainer never seems to have any Armor upgrade stuff for sale.

I'm lvl 14 and still stuck on Cloth, is this normal or am i doing something horribly wrong?

what class you playing? some classes cant use more than cloth. like priest, mage, warlock

Certain classes are limited to certain types of armor.There are 4 lvls of armor Cloth,Leather, Mail & Plate.Cloth being lowest and plate highest U can wear lower types of armor inaddition to what you are limited to.

Mage--Cloth
Priest--Cloth
Warlock--Cloth

Rogue--Leather
Druid--Leather

Shaman--Starts with leather and upgrades to mail at lvl 40
Hunter--Starts with leather and upgrades to mail at lvl 40

Warrior--Starts with mail and upgrades to plate at lvl 40
Pally--Starts with mail and upgrades to plate at lvl 40

You get helms at higher level, if I recall the first cloth helm is at lvl 24.

NAh there is cloth cowls for lvl 18 but has no stats.
