Arms cache found in Limpopo

Firearms and ammunition have been found in a veld outside Naboomspruit, Limpopo police said on Sunday.

Telkom workers fixing a faulty telephone line on Crecy road made the discovery on Friday evening, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

Police recovered an R-1 rifle, a 9mm pistol, four revolvers, five smoke grenades, and 935 rounds of ammunition for weapons including shotguns and AK-47 assault rifles.

The arms were taken for safekeeping and forensic examination. No arrests had been made.
